Me In Progress...

Helloooooo...Pet Peeve I May Have Already Mentioned:

People who cannot deal with the photocopier. They can't change the toner; or they cause a paper jam and leave the scene instead of dealing with the problem. And then they (may - if they are fearless) come to me and expect me to deal with it. Who the f*ck do these people think I am? Rob Schneider, SNL's "the copy guy"?! (Jimmmmay! The Jimminator! Jimmin-imin-ola! The Jimster!) And, honestly, if the person in the lowest of the entry level positions (not me, by the bye) is expected know how the photocopier works, then theoretically, shouldn't everyone be able to figure out how to use it? ARRGH!

Anyhoo, I stayed up until 2AM on Saturday night in order to catch the rerun of the premiere of "Fat Actress." In total honesty, it wasn't worth the wait. It was okay, and kinda funny. Love that they got Jeff Zucker (President of NBC) to participate in the pilot, but Kirsty is just too over the top, and not in a good way. Essentially a copy of Larry David and "Curb Your Enthusiam," The show revolves around Allen trying to survive as a working actor in Hollywood. Unlike David however, Allen just isn't funny enough playing herself. And even though she has a nice set of knockers, by the end of the 30 mins. I was sick of watching Alley in (albeit beautiful) lingerie.

Also caught the 2 episode "sneak preview" (fancy way of saying pilot?) of "Jake In Progress..." starring John Stamos. I have to say, I was not a fan of "Uncle Jessie" back in the days of "Full House," yet, I have come to like him in recent years. I was a fan of "Thieves," unfortunately, if you blinked you missed it. (Too bad because it was shot in Toronto - or at least the pilot was.) And he is very engaging in interview and on those long distance commercials. But I digress. "Jake In Progress..." is a one-camera, 30 minute version of what could easily be a one-hour dramedy, about a good-looking, charming, celebrity PR agent who is at the point in his life where he finally wants to settle down and leave his insensitive, womanizing days behind him. The pitch could be "the-male-Ally-McBeal-without-the-surrealism." It was good! And definitely "tape-worthy."

It's now lunchtime which will give me a temporary High and then at about 4PM will make me crash Low

Mid-Season Replacements

Unscripted - HBO/Section Eight (Clooney/Soderbergh) - Reality show following the trials & tribs of 3 actors (2 women & 1 man) trying to make it big in Hollywood - Thumbs Up!

Fat Actress - Showtime - Semi-Autobiographical Sitcom starring Kirsty Alley - Looks promising but missed the premiere. Will catch re-run of it on Saturday.

Blind Justice - ABC - A detective blinded on the job has fought the system and is back on duty starring Ron Eldard - I hate that guy, but the show was interesting enough that I watched the entire episode. However, definitely not "tape-worthy."

L&O: Trial By Jury - A "fresh" take on the tired Law & Order series. A "behind-the-scenes-look" at the judicial side of things, including DA & defense strategies, in the jury room, etc., starring Bebe Neuwirth - Best of the L&O series of late (with Special Victims Unit coming in at second), but it was still better when "The Jury" did it last year.

At the moment I can't think of any other new shows, but I will keep you updated as they continue to premiere.

Fresh blood into my tv line-up gives me a pure High

She makes me furrow my Brows which means they are neither

Shoe Fetish

Y'all have seen a pic of my dog. She, Flower looks great in the photo! Flower does NOT look that great up close and personal! Because she is of the long haired variety, I have to put booties on her during the snow and rain or else the amount of snow, water and dirt that clings to her paws in unbelieveable and not easy to clean up after!

Now, dog boots do not come cheap. So I thought I totally lucked out when I found a "quad" (a doggy "pair") at Wal-Mart for $9.99! Woo!Hoo! But it turns out that the old adage is correct; you definitely get what you pay for. The boots only cover her paws, so when Flower gleely goes clomping through 1' of snow, the snow gleely clings to the exposed portion of her legs. Also, if the ground hog was correct we have at least another 2 weeks of winter ahead of us and those cheap Wal-Mart boots are already started to rip apart.

This has force me to face the harsh reality that I will have to buy an expensive quad of boots for Flower if I want them to last. I think I have found the perfect quad. For those of you who face yourself with the same problem, check out NeoPaws. The boots are a fashionable thigh-high length and come with a sensible rubber sole with a good tred. They also sell "indoor shoes" for that your dog's nails don't scratch up your nice hardwood floors. HOT DANG! Why couldn't I have found this company sooner? Sigh! It's much too late for my formally beautiful turn of the century original hardwood floors now....

Sigh, I feel Low...

Back At Work

That means I am also back at blogging. A summary of events:

I rocked with "Reeg" on New Year's Eve at Time's Square in NYC. For any of you who have ever thought that it might be something you might want to experience, I just have one word for you, "DON'T"!!! Standing still (because of all the bodies) for 7 hours without peeing is no one's idea of fun. Okay, David Blaine might be the exception to that statement, but well, he is the devil, so...

Spent some time in the 'burbs with ma famille. Everything is so far away. I'm not used to having to drive to get to the supermarket. And for some reason, everything is sold in bulk. Neverthless, there was a Starbucks close by so I knew I hadn't drifted too far from civilization!

Started work a week ago. Just in time for the snow storms! Yea! (That was a sarcastic "yea.") Can I tell ya, I used to love the snow and rain, but ever since I got a dog with long hair any weather condition besides sunny and dry is a royal pain in the ass! I have to wake up an extra 10 mins. every morning because that's how long it take to dry her after we get back from the morning walk. Not fun.

So that's basically been my life for the past 2 months. Sad but true.

I'm not a "fairweather friend" but today I feel Low
